In this Project, I designed a Community centre that is designed to support refugees and asylum seekers coming into the U.K. from Syria. This design caters for all ages with the focus on the importance of family and togetherness.
The Community centre based in the First Church of Christ Scientist, Boscombe has been curated to help with the transition of living in the U.K.
The Hall is split into different zones with different uses:
- Classroom for English lessons
- Resources area for access to computers, books and meeting spaces for projects
- Study area providing a quiet space for learning
- Community Kitchen where anyone can use and also a way of meeting new people.
- Creche Facilities for the younger children whilst providing a safe space for families to get together
- Private rooms where therapy sessions can be held.
